Frequently Asked Questions about our studio

1) What can I make?

Beginners and newcomers are welcome and can make any of our “primary, plus, or premium” projects with the help of our instructors! Check out options we offer under the “What Can You Make?” tab.

2) What ages can participate?

Ages 8+ are able to participate in glassblowing activities, however some of our more complicated projects/workshops require ages 16+.

3) What classes are best for children? (Ages 8-15)

Youth classes include a wide variety of mini sessions. They are half-hour sessions which is the amount of time to make 1 item. You can sign your child up for more than 1 mini session if desired.

4) What should I wear?

Dress comfortably and with safety in mind. Cotton based clothing is best along with closed toe shoes. Jeans are recommended all year round. Bring a drink as the studio may be 10-20 degrees hotter than outside temperatures.

5) Can I come and watch my kids/grandkids participate?

Yes, we encourage family members to spectate and take pictures in the studio while your child is with an instructor. If you are not signed up for a class, but want to spectate in your group there is no charge, but all parties must fill out studio waivers and follow studio rules. (Safety and Covid concerns may limit the number of observers permitted at one time.)

6) Where do I fill out the waivers?

Waivers are filled out in person on the day of your class for adults 18 and older. All minors must have waivers filled out by a legal guardian. In the case that the legal guardian is not attending, we require you request our waivers a head of time to have printed and signed for your child to bring with them the day of class. To request waivers email info@mcsog.com.

7) What's the cancellation policy?

Cancellation requires 14 business days notice. A 20% re-booking fee may apply to any changes in your original order. No cash refund.

9) Do I get to take my items home the day of?

No, All items are available for pick up one week after your items have been made. This allows time for your piece to cool down and cleaned of any rugged edges.

10) What will you be doing/learning?

Glassblowing offers a combination of an artistic and scientific learning experience. At MCSOG we make sure to keep our customers educated about the glassblowing process as they are creating their own piece with one of our instructors.

11) Do you offer private lessons for individuals or groups?

“Private lessons” are ideal for practicing glassblowing skills and improving techniques for students who have taken previous classes such as a workshop or our 5-week class.   We regret that we can rarely schedule private lessons on Saturday or Sunday. Private lessons are mostly available on weekday mornings or afternoons.

Kindly contact our office about the pricing.

For those who want to try additional activities, we also offer mosaic and etching classes.
